The current design and interface of the app is posing challenges for individuals who are not technologically adept. Recruiters/salon owners took up to 60 minutes to post a job. Similarly, candidates took time in comprehending how to fill their profile information during registration process.

Kohot by Professional Beauty Group aims to solve the recruitment challenge within the beauty industry, whether it is a beautician or hairdresser finding a job in their nearest spa or salon; or an eployer looking to urgently hire talent to expand their business. Kohot is the industry’s match making platform, allowing instant connection between those seeking jobs and employers seeking staff. Kohot is designed to solve the problem of providing job opportunities to tens of thousands of people in our industry by helping them build a digital professional profile, a career management platform, and access to the best industry jobs.
Kohot now has 10k+ downloads with 4.4 ratings on Play store.
Usability testing and secondary research of job posts revealed insights on the most important information like job title, salary, benefits, location, contact details, short job description, etc that need to be prioritized. The insights made it clear that unlike white collared job portals like LinkedIn and Indeed, there was no requirement of lengthy roles and responsibilities, image gallery, socials, etc for this industry. Information had to be kept concise for the ease of the recruiter and simple comprehension of the job candidate.
